Elementary and Secondary Principal Networks
9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Ross Ricenbaw, Waverly Middle School
Making Management Automatic:
Ross will share ideas about how to automate management tasks, allowing more time for leadership. Specifically Ross will show how he uses Google Communities, Trello, and Google Docs (with bookmarks) for day to day management and long range planning. He will also show how he uses the Eisenhower Matrix to determine action related to Urgency and Importance.

Charlie Hutzler, Norris High School
Charlie will share how they have been working to collect data and follow trends for students failing classes for the purpose of RtI identification. The goal was to find students to focus on, provide an intervention and track progress. Charlie will share about how grading practices factored into their efforts.

Other:

DIG--Data Integration Group
Purpose: Participants will develop data leadership capacity and be able to help their schools with the SIP process. This would include utilizing MAP data, reading data, and other data to improve student learning. Participants will learn about the new Nebraska Department of Education accountability system AQUEST, and the statewide data dashboard which is under development.
Format:
  • Meet 4 time during the school year.
  • Encourage 2 year commitment
  • Textbook: Data Analysis for Continuous School Improvement 3rd edition by Victoria Bernhardt
  • 3 hours of Doane Credit will be available. This will require related activities.
  • Each ESU school may have 2 participants.
